User Access Management
User Access Management Assessment & Optimization
Softlab, in collaboration with the Cyber Security department of an international company operating in the Telecommunications sector, listed on NYSE, was requested to optimize and homogenize various user access management processes. The goal was to achieve improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes themselves and the supporting systems and tools.
The approach taken by Softlab involved conducting assessments on the processes and tools used for user access management activities to identify improvements, expressing related functional requirements, and monitoring the progress of corresponding projects. Softlab played the role of PM in relevant UAM initiatives and coordinated systems onboarding on UAM systems. The team performed annual recertification of all IT information systems, managed resulting actions, monitored their execution, and conducted necessary Risk Assessment activities. Softlab also supported client management in the execution of audits and project management of defined remediations.
The Softlab team analyzed applicable policies and procedures, interviewed UAM process owners and performers to understand the related activities in detail, designed possible solutions, and improved process controls and operating procedures. The operation of systems supporting UAM processes was analyzed, and requirements for process and supporting systems improvement were defined. The team initiated and managed projects to implement defined requirements, conducted recertification campaigns and Risk Assessments, ongoing support for audit activities in the UAM area, defined requirements remediation to audit findings, and initiated and managed the implementation of defined requirements.
Softlab's support resulted in the improvement of User Access Management processes and tools, automation of UAM controls, and completion of periodic user recertifications.
The Softlab team conducted a thorough analysis of applicable policies and procedures and analyzed the operation of systems supporting the UAM processes to devise possible solutions and improve process controls and operating procedures. They initiated and managed projects to implement defined requirements and conducted necessary Risk Assessment activities. Overall, Softlab's expertise in assessing, monitoring, and optimizing systems and tools components, delivered efficient and effective User Access Management processes.
